Forest Science Hall
The Forest Science Hall is located inside Hongneung Arboretum, the National Institute of Forest Science and opened on November 6th, 1999 to inform the functions and values of forests and offer knowledge and information regarding forestry for the general public. It is a large, three-dimensional wooden structure built with concrete rebar, lamination wood of larches, pine trees and nut pines, and is designed to be an enormous exhibit by combining Korea’s unique historic characteristics and the modern wooden architecture style. It has utilized domestic timber for internal decorations. The 3-story building with a total area of 2,465㎡ (747 pyeong) consists of Exhibit #1 「Forest and People」, Exhibit #2 「Forest and Industry」, Exhibit #3 「Lumber and Life」, and planned and special exhibit halls.
