Jan. 1, 1963 | Myeonmok-dong of SeongDong Gu acquired under Law No. 1172 (proclaimed on Nov. 21, 2962); part of Guri Myeon, Yangju, Gyeonggi Do also acquired, necessitating the establishment of Mang-u Branch (24-dongs in total). |
Jan. 1, 1968 | Municipal Ordinance No. 491 (proclaimed on Dec. 29, 1967) eliminated Mang-u Branch. |
May 18, 1970 | Municipal Ordinance No. 614 (proclaimed on May 5, 1970) changed the minimum quorum of ‘Dong’ heads and ‘Dong’ jurisdictions (28-dongs to 34-dongs in total). |
Jul. 1, 1973 | Part of Myeonmok-dong of Dongdaemun Gu acquired by SeongDong Gu, and part of Junggok-dong of SeongDong Gu acquired by Dongdaemun Gu under Executive Order No. 6548 (proclaimed on Mar. 12, 1973); Municipal Ordinance No. 784 (proclaimed on Jun. 26, 1973) created Myeonmok-3-dong and Myeonmok-4-dong (34-dongs to 36-dongs). |
Oct. 1, 1975 | The old ‘Gu’ jurisdiction changed under Executive Order No. 7816 (proclaimed on Sep. 23, 1975).

Jan. 1, 1989 | The part in the west of Jungnangcheon in Jung-hwa-dong, Jungnang Gu, transferred back to Dongdaemun Gu under Executive Order No. 12557.
