Established in November 2004 as Dongdaemun Youth Orchestra, it was converted to a gu (district) orchestra in October 2009. Starting with a foundation ceremony and concert in 2010, it has held regular concerts at Grand Peace Palace, Kyung Hee University, putting on display a fantastic harmony by 80 members led by Conductor Kim Jung-ki and Vice Director Jung Young-su. It has been conducting annual bazaars and performances for the needy in our communities as well as community services. With the pride and will to cultivate the minds of Dongdaemun-gu residents, it will continue to participate in internal and external cultural events to further raise the status of the Youth Orchestra.
