It was founded to collect and manage data related to history, folklore, archaeology and arts as well as to the history of Seoul, and utilizes them for exhibits, education and research, thus supporting educational activities of students and providing a cultural space for citizens. The museum runs its own unique programs with students and citizens and other activities as a “museum to satisfy users”. Through operation of exhibits, educational promotion, investigative research and management of artifacts, it offers a number of cultural services to students and citizens.
